Day 1, Friday: Rome
Arrive in Rome and check in at the hotel (check-in starts at 4:00 pm). Then meet with your guide for a presentation of the tour. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2, Saturday: Rome - Montepulciano - Penza - Siena
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before starting our journey to Tuscany. The first stop of our tour will be Montepulciano, one of the most characteristic and well-preserved medieval villages in Italy, also known for its prestigious “Nobile” wine. There will be wine tasting accompanied by samples of typical food during the excursion. From there we will travel to Pienza, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Pienza is a quintessential Renaissance town known for its sheep cheese where history is breathed into every corner of its Historic Center. Take in the beauty of the surrounding Val d’Orcia landscape and its breathtaking views. We end the day by checking in at a hotel in Siena.
Day 3, Sunday: Siena - Chianti - Mestre
Have breakfast at the hotel and visit Siena, a city full of charm and considered one of the jewels of Italy. At the center is the famous Piazza del Campo with its unique shell shape. This is where the famous Palio, one of the most significant events of Italian folklore, is held every year. During our city tour with a local guide, we will have the opportunity to admire the magnificent Duomo of Siena, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture that houses works signed by great masters of the Italian Renaissance such as Donatello, Michelangelo, and Pinturicchio. Lunch is included during the excursion. In the afternoon we will explore the Chianti region with its vineyards, cypresses and Tuscan villages. At the end of the tour, we will continue on to the Veneto region and stay at a hotel in the Padua/Mestre area.
Day 4, Monday: Mestre - Venice - Mestre
We start with breakfast at the hotel. This is a day to discover the magnificence of Venice. In the morning you will begin your guided tour of the city discovering St. Mark’s Square, the Bridge of Sighs, and all the main monuments and squares of the city. We will enjoy the sights of the city known as “La Serenissima” with a walk through streets, squares, and canals that intertwine creating a unique urban fabric. We will admire some of the more than 400 bridges as well as the ancient and colorful palaces and artisan workshops. In the afternoon, there will be free time for shopping and sightseeing on your own. As an alternative to the afternoon free time, you can participate in an ImperaExperience: purchase this optional excursion at point-of-booking to explore the Islands of Murano and Burano, or enjoy a gondola ride. Afterward, return to the hotel in the Padua/ Mestre area. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5, Tuesday: Padua/Mestre
Breakfast at the hotel. This marks the end of our tour.
