Câmara de Lobos Portugal

It was this traditional fishing village located 5 km from Funchal that inspired Winston Churchill to paint its enchanting landscapes. This name was given by the explorers João Gonçalves Zarco and Tristão Vaz Teixeira for the large number of sea lions that existed at that time. Câmara de Lobos, in addition to its beautiful bay, has several points of interest, such as Pico da Torre, Curral das Freiras, Boca dos Namorados, Boca da Corrida and Cabo Girão.
